Advancing Sustainability Through People and Communities

At Domtar, sustainability extends beyond environmental performance. Through the “Our People and Communities” pillar of its 2030 Sustainability Strategy, Domtar continues to align operational priorities with community well-being, employee development and long-term social impact.
During the fourth quarter of 2025, the company strengthened its partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Canada by donating four significant parcels of forested land and waters. This contribution represents the largest land donation in the organization’s history in Atlantic Canada and reinforces Domtar’s commitment to biodiversity and community benefit.
Domtar also invested in five local communities through the Start Proud!® program in collaboration with Office Depot and Office Depot and OfficeMax, supporting school districts with back-to-school initiatives for teachers. These actions reflect how community engagement is integrated into the company’s broader sustainability objectives.
Employee leadership and inclusion were also recognized during the quarter. Marie-Noëlle Watts, General Manager of the Saint-Félicien mill, received the Forest Products Association of Canada’s 2025 Women in Forestry Award, acknowledging her leadership and commitment to employee development.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate how Domtar’s sustainability strategy connects environmental stewardship with people-centered impact, reinforcing that long-term resilience depends on strong communities, engaged employees and responsible leadership.
