Domtar Crayola Sustainability Award

At Domtar, we believe that strong partnerships are built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to sustainability. That’s why we’re proud to share that Crayola has recognized Domtar with its 2025 CARE (Colorful Action for Renewable Energy) Award.

The award honors our customer support excellence – from accurate and timely sustainability data to the attention to detail that helps customers like Crayola achieve their environmental goals. Crayola also highlighted Domtar’s responsible forest management and sustainable wood and fiber sourcing practices, both key commitments to our 2030 Sustainability Strategy.

Today, 100% of the wood and fiber we use comes from responsible sources. By 2030, Domtar plans to increase landowner engagement across our fiber value chain, focusing on practices that deliver social, environmental, and economic value. Since Domtar manufactures the paper used in Crayola’s coloring books, this partnership directly supports Crayola’s broader sustainability goals and product standards.

“This recognition means a lot because helping our customers reach their goals is truly a cross-functional effort,” said Danielle Sinclair, Senior Account Manager for National Accounts, including Crayola. “Collaboration and accountability matter. We’re proud to help Crayola bring color and creativity to the world.”

Collaboration at the core of customer support

Customer support at Domtar is more than a process: it’s a shared purpose. Account managers such as Danielle Sinclair and Bob Saxon, who oversee the Hallmark account, work closely with our Sustainability team to provide customers with verified environmental data and insights to make informed decisions.

“In recent years, companies have been placing more emphasis on sustainability,” said Saxon. “Our sales and sustainability teams work together to ensure customers receive accurate information quickly. Everyone is on the same page.”

Behind the scenes, Domtar’s Sustainability team plays a crucial role in this collaboration. In 2024 alone, the team responded to more than 500 customer sustainability and regulatory requests. Jordan Bowers, Customer Relations Coordinator, gathers information from subject matter experts to ensure responses are precise and consistent.

In 2025, we launched a new customer support portal to make it even easier for customers to request and receive sustainability data. This initiative reflects one of Domtar’s core values (accountability) and our mission to deliver industry-leading forest products with care for our employees, customers, communities, and the planet.

“The portal has made the process faster and more efficient for both Domtar and our customers,” said Bowers. “It also helps our sales team respond to sustainability questions with confidence.”

Together, Sinclair, Saxon, and Bowers continue to identify ways to collaborate more efficiently to support customers like Crayola and Hallmark.

“At the end of the day, we want to be a strategic resource for our customers,” said Sinclair. “Our Sustainability team is helping make that possible.”

“Every experience like our work with Crayola teaches us how to respond faster and better,” added Bowers. “That’s what makes compliance easier for everyone involved.”

At Domtar, sustainability and service go hand in hand. Recognition from partners like Crayola inspires us to continue raising the bar, delivering forest products responsibly, with care and accountability at every step.
